April Luncheon with Senator Galluchio

CBA Luncheon "Meet and Greet with State Senator Anthony Gallucio"

On Tuesday, April 25th, Senator Anthony Galluchio was the featured speaker at our April Luncheon Event held at the Navy Yard Bistro. 

The Senator came and took questions from the floor from CBA members. Topics included, traffic, non-profit funding, crime, business issues and youth. 

The Navy Yard Bistro prepared a beautiful lunch menu that included a tasty fresh salad and either an Asian Inspired Salmon and rice dish or Artichoke Pasta Dish. As usual, the Navy Yard Bistro was successful in providing a meal that was more than worth the cost and was also fast and delicious.

Holiday Mixer Dec. 6, 2007

Our "First Annual Holiday Mixer" was a huge success with over 40 people attending to network and socialize to start off the Holiday Season. The event was held at Sorelle City Square and boasted a variety of appetizers, such as proscuitto rolled asparagus, Goat Cheese and Fig Toasts, Pizza of all kinds, Caesar Salad with chicken, varieties of sandwiches, squares, cookies tarts and more...Last but not LEAST, wonderful wonderful Coffee! The food was delicious and the attendees seemed to enjoy our first annual holiday event. This was a free event to CBA Members, Charlestown Non-profit members and their guests sponsored by the Charlestown Business Association. We hope to make the party an annual tradition, we hope you had a great time! See you all in 2007! FIRST ANNUAL CHARLESTOWN OPEN MARKET, SATURDAY JUNE 9TH, 2007

Applications are now being accepted for the Charlestown Open Market to be held on Saturday, June 9 from 12 noon to 4 pm. The location is Main Street between Austin and West School Street. This event will showcase Charlestown's retail, service and home based businesses, as well as the many artists and artisans in our community. You will have an opportunity to sell your wares and/or promote your business. Held during Charlestown Pride week, it promises to be a well attended event.

Space is limited. Open to all Charlestown based businesses, artists and artisans on a first come/first serve basis. (You must be a Charlestown resident or a Charlestown business to participate). There is a $15 application fee to cover administrative expenses.

Weblogging Seminar with Amanda Watlington

We had a great weblogging seminar presented by Amanda Watlington at the offices of Regus at 40 Warren.

Amanda gave us the basics of weblogging, how to use it for business and how to get setup. It was a really great seminar overall, and we created a handout that you can download if you are interested in the notes.

Thanks to Amanda for the wonderful presentation, and to Regus in Charlestown for hosting the event and providing us with a wonderful lunch.
