Parents of Teens - Learn More About Your Teen!
Hear what they are saying across the country.
Susan Callahan and Katrin Schumann are authors of the book Mothers Need Time Outs, Too: It's Good to be a Little Selfish, It Actually Makes You a Better Mother (McGraw Hill 2008). They interviewed over 500 women across America and abroad, and determined that it's time for modern mothers to stop putting themselves last on their to-do lists and reconnect with their passions. They have been featured on the TODAY show, in Women's Day, as well as newspapers and radio nationally and internationally. In addition, Callahan and Schumann have led dozens of presentations on how today's busy moms can live a less stressful lives.
They are currently working on their second book, "Teens Need Time-Outs, Too: Giving our Tweens and Teens the Tools They Need to Thrive in the Brave New World." Please join them for an interactive, open dialogue about raising your teens. They will address questions such as:
· I want to understand my teen better - what tools do I need?
· How can I communicate more effectively with my teen?
· How much activity is too much for my teen?
· How can I prepare my teen for success as an adult?
Callahan and Schumann will share with you the seven secrets teens want you to know, as well as a recent study on how teens prioritize: healthy eating habits, satisfying social lives, excellence in school, sleep, showing respect and taking responsibility. Please join them in this round table discussion, designed to give and gather invaluable information on helping our teens find their way in this ever-changing and complex world.
