Young Entrepreneurs Project/PYD, in collaboration with the Boston Public Schools, teaches youth with and without disabilities to plan for their financial future by offering courses that teach career and business skills. Youth complete a year-long course, consisting of classroom learning, guest speakers, and field trips. Adult mentors from the business community work with youth to assist them in preparing business plans and an individual career portfolio. FIRST ANNUAL CHARLESTOWN OPEN MARKET, SATURDAY JUNE 9TH, 2007

Applications are now being accepted for the Charlestown Open Market to be held on Saturday, June 9 from 12 noon to 4 pm. The location is Main Street between Austin and West School Street. This event will showcase Charlestown's retail, service and home based businesses, as well as the many artists and artisans in our community. You will have an opportunity to sell your wares and/or promote your business. Held during Charlestown Pride week, it promises to be a well attended event.

Space is limited. Open to all Charlestown based businesses, artists and artisans on a first come/first serve basis. (You must be a Charlestown resident or a Charlestown business to participate). There is a $15 application fee to cover administrative expenses.

The New England Fine Arts and Antiques Fair (NEFAAAF) Debuts at Bunker Hill Community College May 20th, 2007 at 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The New England Fine Arts and Antiques Fair (NEFAAAF), the region's only juried exhibition of its kind, debuts on May 20th at Bunker Hill Community College. NEFAAAF was created to showcase only fine quality arts, crafts, and antiques and to bring artists, dealers and patrons together in a single venue. . Visitors will have the opportunity to meet artists who are selling their original fine arts or fine crafts and exhibitors who are selling fine antiques. Items will include paintings, jewelry, ceramics, handpainted silks, art glass, photography, first edition books, vintage textiles and more.

Featured guests of the grand opening are Boston native and internationally known painter, Paul Goodnight and Rhode Island School of Design faculty member Sharon Pollock who will conduct wheel throwing demonstrations throughout the day. Complimentary art activities for children will be provided by the Museum of Fine Arts.

Rain or shine, the fair will reoccur the 3rd Sunday of each month at BHCC unless otherwise specified. Each time the fair will showcase a different artist or antique dealer. Hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free. For more information, please call 781-961-1149 or go online to
